SENSOR NETWORKS
Purple Key’s proprietary sensor deployment network monitors clients’ airspace. These sensors are a custom solution, built using commercial components and making use of modern internet technologies to bring airspace monitoring and improved safety within the reach of more businesses. Combined with machine learning, objects will be classified and trigger alerts, meaning you know what’s happening in your airspace and can be confident in the risk or non-risk at any time.

By combining a variety of inputs, the coverage will allow you to have unparalleled confidence in the security of your airspace. In addition, third-party sensors such as radar can be integrated into the network for additional coverage.
Sensor fusion takes place on the local controller and will trigger a local alert if configured to do so.This ensures the system will still operate effectively in the event of a communications outage.
Airspace Monitoring
Remote monitoring is available as an ongoing service, including the option for incident handling via dedicated operations centre staff. Possible threats are automatically highlighted to the operations room staff (or customer directly, for those opting out of monitoring).
Following further data reviews, a plan of action will be implemented to ensure safe operations or security. Action plans will be developed in partnership with our clients for those that require more than just alerting.
The Purple Key operations team can liaise with our clients in real time to make best use of the data available to maximise situational awareness. For critical sites or time periods, Purple Key can also offer an on-site response team. The team will be equipped with additional sensors including the ability to deploy remotely piloted observation and intercept air vehicles.
Remote Monitoring and Incident Management
While sensor fusion takes place on site and alerts can be generated independently Purple Key will provide remote monitoring from our operations centre for clients who opt for ongoing support.
The team will then review the alert and then manage the incident as agreed with the customer, whether its passing data and recommendations to an in-house team or managing airborne observations and countermeasures directly.
Airborne Observation
Purple Key is developing an airborne observation platform that works in conjunction with the sensor network and operations facilities to provide an additional layer of data.
This will allow our teams on the ground to get the best possible view where conditions allow, increasing both your knowledge of the situation and improving your decision making.
Airborne Countermeasures
The final stage of the end-to-end process is to deliver airborne countermeasures where appropriate, safe and legal to do so. Purple Key will deliver the ability to disengage an offending small UAS with our own proprietary interception system, allowing a safer solution across a broader range of threats (including those without GPS or radio control).
